The Callington pairing of Denise Sanders and Mandy Jones enjoyed a successful Saturday afternoon at a windswept Kensey Vale Bowls Club when they won the Bowls Cornwall Group 2 Gawler Cup by beating their Dunheved opponents Julie Fishleigh and Amanda Keen in a very close and low scoring game. Despite opening up an early lead the Callington pair found themselves one shot down going into the last of the 18 ends, but managed to squeeze the necessary two shots to claim a 13-12 victory.

The trophy was presented by popular Group 2 Chairman Jennie Dyer.
