2026 is an excellent year to try out the sport of bowls at Callington.

The club is offering reduced membership fees for all adult bowlers, and free memberships for all Under-18's.

Further discounts on club shirts and trousers for those who join the club and who wish to play competitively make  2026 an absolute bargain for new and transferring bowlers.

The club has already run two Taster sessions with over 20 people electing to join the club. To cater for the  level of interest, further sessions will be held during the summer.

However, you needn't wait until then, you can pop down to the club on Friday evenings and join in. Just bring trainers to wear.

Whilst the game is perceived to be played as 'old men's marbles', there are Club, County, and English youth teams with the majority of top players throughout the world being under 30.

If you enjoyed watching curling on TV, then come and try the equivalent on grass.

The club has six qualified coaches to help you enjoy the game and a club coaching plan for you to follow and learn all the basics of the sport.

The sport will be heavily televised during the summer as the Commonwealth Games from Glasgow will be shown at the end of July and the English National Championships will be shown from Leamington in August.
